Thanks to its versatility, the Additive Manufacturing technology can be applied to a large variety of industrial sectors, and it is more and more considered also in one of the most conservative field such as the Energy one. This is the reason why in 2022 Valland S.p.A, that since 2006 produces tailor-made valves, has decided to open its own internal department dedicated to AM. One of the main driver of Valland3D is to ease the adoption of AM by considering the needs of the end users. Their aim, in fact, is to have custom solutions with the shortest lead time possible and without the necessity to increase the stock in warehouses.
According to that, the implementation of online platforms dedicated to create digital inventories represents a key point for Valland3D and, their use is the main focus of the presented case study. It will be analysed how it is possible to manage the supply chain through a Digital Inventory and which can be the advantages of this solution, both for the OEM and the End User.

L’Additive Manufacturing si pone come una tecnologia estremamente versatile e adatta ad essere applicata a svariati settori dell’industria. Essa sta prendendo sempre più piede anche nell’Energy, uno dei campi storicamente tra i più tradizionalisti. Proprio per questo, nel 2022 Valland S.P.A, attiva dal 2006 nella produzione di valvole tailor-made su commessa, ha ufficialmente istituito il proprio dipartimento additive interno. Valland3D nasce per favorire l’adozione dell’AM con un’attenzione particolare ai bisogni e alle necessità degli End User che puntano ad avere soluzioni custom, nel minor tempo possibile e senza necessità di stoccare le parti in magazzini fisici.
In questo senso, l’implementazione di piattaforme dedicate alla creazione di magazzini digitali gioca un ruolo chiave ed il loro utilizzo risulta essere il main focus del case study proposto. In particolare, verrà presentato come è possibile gestire la supply chain attraverso un Digital Inventory e di quali possono essere i vantaggi di tale soluzione, sia per l’OEM che per il cliente finale.
